Two components, air drying, high build Epoxy primer. The product has the advantage of epoxy resin composition with specialty pigments, which facilitates one-coat, high build application for high performance. The product can be applied on minimum prepared surface and is designed to be completely wet and provide maximum intimacy with the substrate. Excellent adhesion is obtained on a variety of intact surfaces including over old coating and tightly adherent rust. With the high solids and less solvent content of the coating the risk of lifting, blistering, pin holing is reduced, and thus the risk of adhesion failure is minimized.
It is recommended for steel structures in industrial plants, bridges, tank exteriors, oil tanks, pipes, marine atmosphere, cooling towers, etc. It has good resistance to spillage and fumes of acids, alkalis, fresh and salt water. Recommended as a primer on suitably cleaned mild steel surface in various Fertilizer units, Refineries, Chemical and other plants, Transportation industries, steel plants, cement plants, power plants, pulp and paper industries, pharmaceutical industries, etc. for application on tank exteriors, structural steel, pipelines, machineries, vessels, etc.

Abrasive blasting to Sa 21/2 Swedish Standards is the best method of surface preparation. In case blasting is not possible than manual cleaning by mechanical methods like wire brush, emery paper, hand / power tools, etc. to achieve St-2 / St-3 cleaning standards of Swedish specification. The surface should be free from moisture, oil, dust and dirt and should be absolutely dry before painting. Removal of loose rust is a must.

Stir the Base part thoroughly. Mix the base and hardener in the recommended ratio by volume. Stir the mix thoroughly to attain homogeneity. Allow the mixture to stand still (maturation) for about 10 minutes to initiate the reaction. Add Epoxy Thinner into the mix, depending on application method, and stir thoroughly for few minutes. Strain the paint through Nylon filter cloth and apply uniformly over the surface. All equipments used for above should be properly cleaned.
Application: By Brush / By Conventional Spray/ By Airless Spray For Brush application, about 5-10% thinner is required to be added. Use quality brushes for paint application; Brushes made up of hog bristles are highly recommended. Size of the brush should be in proportion to the work in hand. Large size brushes (100-125 mm) for large areas and small brushes (25-50 mm) for narrow areas should be used

1. Do not apply paint when temperature falls below 10°C or rises above 50°C and when Relative Humidity is above 85%. Do not apply during rain, fog or mist. Surface temperature must always be minimum of 3°C above Dew point.2. Brushes and spray equipment should be cleaned with SAFFRO's recommended thinner, otherwise equipment is liable to be damaged.3. Products with MIO pigmentation and also with various amine Hardeners are available on requests4. DFT variation can be obtained by change in application method / thinning ratio.5. Product for flow coat applications is also available on request.6. Shelf life indicated is minimum for this Product in sealed condition and it is subject to re-inspection thereafter. Individual component is required to be stored in cool, dry and covered condition, away from heat and ignition.
This is a solvent based paint and care should be taken to avoid inhalation of spray mist or vapour as well as contact between the wet paint and exposed skin or eyes.
